Mansfield - the best Austen novel
I know I will come to many objections here by stating this, but out of all the Austen novels, I feel "Mansfield Park" is the best due to the less formulaic principles she relies on. I do not want to ruin the ending, but unlike "Pride and Prejudice" where the final romance felt forced, the ending of "Mansfield Park" felt more realistic to life. As it says towards the ending, when Edmund considers perhaps he has loved the wrong girl the whole time, such is how things often work in reality. Usually we are blinded by the wrong person and find the right person has been in front of us the whole time. It was a bit disturbing they were cousins...but such was the time. I am also new here and wanted to use this post to say a big hello to everyone!
