Does Anybody know what truth the time traveller is searching for in "the time machine?"

Beside trying to prove to his fellows that time is actually another dimension that can be explored physically, I think the traveller is also trying to prove further that current existance will somehow persist in the future to come. With his experience with the Eloi and Morlocks, he travelled much further beyond to prove his thought.
