Does Anybody Recognize This Story?
I'm trying to remember the title and author of a short story I read in high school... I think back to it often, and I remember liking it a lot, but I can't remember any specific details.
It is about a young man who either visits or stays with a single father (a doctor, I believe) and his daughter, who the protagonist is in love with. The father has a large, beautiful, exotic garden... I think it is enclosed by a brick courtyard. The ending was open-ended and kind of sinister, I think... There was some connection between the daughter and the garden. |
