Hello everyone! I am inviting you to discuss at will the various elements you are encountering in the Heart of Darkness. This site has been set up for the senior class of Corona del Mar HS, but is open to anyone with ideas/questions to share with us! Welcome, and happy blogging!

"A fascination of the abomination..." means to me that they are captivated by the ruins or of a destruction that they see. When I read this, I think of how accidents allure people into seeing them, and even when it's so horrible to look at it, it'll still interest people.

"The facination of the abomination. . . " to me means that destruction always attracts a crowd. Even at human's begininnings, we have been drawn to destruction, anger and torture. The Romans even turned it into a sport. I think that at this point we cannot get away from the desire to see things go wrong.

"Fascination of the abomination..." Well, I think this means that we are all interesed and fascinated by destruction. People are drawn especially to the people who have fallen from grace. It's interesting to learn about great leaders who once had it all: power, influence, and wealth. It's even more interesting to learn about how they failed.

![]() I think that people have a fascination of abomination, because humans have a tendacy to be drawn toward things that are horific, sad, or destructive; we like seeing the bad becuase it makes us more greatful that we are not in the same situation. This concept is very similar to the explanation of why people like watching drama, or why some people make their lives more dramatic than they need to be. |

"A fascination of abombination" means to me something that is fascinated by something or someone that is disliked or horrific. An example of this would be war. Even though it is disliked throughout the United States we still are interested in what is happening in Iraq.

I totally agree that people are drawn toward things that are not effecting them but are fasinating in the fact that they are either dramatic, horrific, or scandalous. A car accident is a good example of this because when an accident occurs all the people driving by slow down and stare because curoisty is a overpowering feeing. They don't necessarily care about the poeople involved, but rather are facinated by whats going on.

This person is completely fascinated in the ruins and destruction of what he is seeing. As difficult as it may be to look at a tragic scene, you can't help but to look. Drama and tragedy interests people, it's a break from the normal everyday life and when you get a chance to see it, you want to know all about it.

To me this portrays the abomination of native life led by the imperilizing whites the power and position that the whites have obtained the fascination of Africa and its rich resources and the power they uphold over the natives, they are fascinated by their different way of life. The blacks may also be fascinated by the white machine the direction it is taking Africa not realizing the abominal destruction that lay ahead.

"The fascination of the abomination"- means that people find some kind of excitement out of bad things that happen such as car accidents, people getting hurt in sports, wars, etc. I beileve today that we care more about making ourself be happy than carrying about what really happens. We get curious and drive by a car accident when someone could really be hurt and doesn't want to be bothered. yaaaa i said it

"Fascination of the abomination..." it shows us how we humans are interested and almost fascinated by destruction and grief. I think the media and the news are a big part of it because they show almost nothing but bombings in iraq, shootings in LA, all kinds of tragedies and it seem to intrigue every1.

"The facination of Abomination" Means that something is distructive yet interesting. Pearl Harbor was a horrible incident although today the public is still very interested in what happened. |
