No offense, but I would start with reading the play. If you're desperately short on time, at least watch the movie (with Kenneth Branagh, Robert Sean Leonard, Denzel Washington, Emma Thompson, and Keanu Reeves), although I wouldn't expect anything comprehensive from that approach. Either should make the differences between the characters abundantly clear.

I'd start by listing their differences or how they react to different situations and work from there.

Wink So what are the differences?

Hello ellij2007,

Hero

- She represents courtly love.

- She is refined and reserved.

- She does what her father tells her to.

- She acts her class. (social)

- She only speaks when spoken to.

- Her name suggest heroic and dignity.

Beatrice

- She represents realistic love.

- She is independent.

- She speaks her mind

- She doesn't really act her class.

- She initiates conversation.

- A wider audience can relate to her.

In conclusion, I hope this helps and mabe you should read the play a bit better yourself!

They are complete opposites. Have you even read the play?
