Adam Bede
Hi to all George Eliot lovers .
I am now reading Adam Bede or rather trying to read it : because i have a problem . it is so full of slang contractions and misspelled words , that a dictionary can't at all help you , and you have to guess the meaning . but this corrupt language makes it really faithful and sincere and go directly to the heart . I'd like to hear from anyone facing the same problem or want to talk about it . thank you Egypt |

Same problem has occured when i started reading this novel as it sometimes has really used short contractions and somewhere long thoughts of Eliot. In the middle,i started getting bored but i was determined to read the whole novel and really enjoyed it.It's a slow moving story but interesting.Hope you will enjoy it.

same opinion with you. so I gave up reading it two years ago. But I think I really should try to finish it, since I am a George Eliot lover.
