It is described very well... The descriptions in this book are superb in general anyway!

Raveloe, the town, I think gains most of its descriptions in earlier chapters, but I know that Silas Marner has all of his money stolen during these chapters, which sets in the time of Christmas and the New Year. Much of the town feels perplexed at the disappearance of one of its citizens (the person who stole Marner's savings), but he seeming a troublesome man, they celebrate wholeheartedly for the holidays.
I do not know really what to describe otherwise of the town. I had always regarded many Raveloe townspeople somewhat superficial in their ideas and behaviors, especially toward Silas Marner, but, as I said, it gets most description in earlier chapters. Good luck! |
