    Thanksgiving Dinner

What's you favorite part of the dinner? I could take or leave the turkey, same with the green bean casserole and the sweet potatos but it just isn't Thanksgiving without the garlic mashed potatos and really good bread.

The cranberries are good too, as long as they are made from really cranberries and not from a can.

    ohhh and pumpkin pie!

I'm with ya on the turkey -- meh. But it's all of the sides, depending on what we cook. . .it's the green bean casserole, creamed onions, stuffing, potatoes and gravy, scalloped oysters. . . . that make the meal.

Here in the camp in the Middle East, the Texans did us proud with a private self organised Thanksgiving, and I'm not even an American! But the canteen was a disaster; scraps of cold turkey, and the alternative was a chicken curry 90% bones.

The only thing my Mom lets me make is the cranberry sauce, so usually that's my favorite. Unfortunately, this year she made it ahead of time ("I thought you'd be too tired!!"), so I'll go with the stuffing.

I love the buns and gravy. If it were up to me, that's all I would take on my plate but my stupid family gets all pouty if I try.
