Ouch the Norwegians just snatched the men's curling victory away, going into an extra end, Canada has the hammer so we should win *fingers crossed*.

Also, the Norwegians are wearing ridiculous checkered pants.

The Swedes beat Great Britain too, somehow the Scandinavians have become good at curling...

Edit: The American curling team is unusually young, only one member over 30, looks like they're going to lose to Germany. (Germany won)

Edit2: Looks like we're about to lose *sigh*

Edit3: Woot! Canada wins with a fantastic final throw.

    Switzerland beats Denmark also.

Thus, after round 1 of curling.

USA, Den, Nor, GB 1 Loss, 0 Wins
Can, Swe, Swi, Ger 0 Losses, 1 Win

China and France have yet to play.

For those who don't know how Olympic curling works. There's a round robin tournament where everyone will play everyone else once, and after that the first place team plays the fourth place for a position in finals, and the second place plays the third. The losers play for the bronze, while the winners play to determine who gets gold and silver.

Omg pip, that last throw was amazing! So was the last throw in the womens' match against the Swiss!

Also, I have renewed confidence in our hockey team for this year. They might just turn out alright (and not because they swept Norway 8-0. That doesn't really tell me much). We might have a chance against the Russians!

    Personal opinion here...
Plushenko is an arrogant individual... I hope he gets what his pride has coming to him...

Weir is a bit of an *** in interviews as well. It's a shame Abbot had such a bad skate, he seems like a nice guy. I'm glad Lysacek did so well, he deserves the gold, it takes a lot of skill to top the standings without doing the quad.

I'm routing for Patrick Chan before all of them, but realistically I don't think he has much of a chance. Would prefer the gangly giant Lysacek over Plushenko anyday.

I'm rooting for Patrick, too, but I don't think he'll make the podium, either.

I'm waiting for the women's competition. I think that Canada should give Yu-Na Kim citizenship. She trains with Brian Orser in Toronto, so she might as well represent Canada.

It's a shame cause he is usually a contender, but messing up the triple axle and getting the time violation ruined his chance this time. He might pull off a bronze if he's perfect tomorrow, and one of the top three has a terrible performance. It's highly unlikely though, he's only 19 so he'll be back next Olympics.

Sid the Kid has put Ovechkin to shame before.

I think Yzerman put together a good team this year. He didn't just choose players that are big names, but he tried to put together a team that could work with each other.

I'm interested to see who's going to become the regular goalie, Luongo is a fantastic goalie but Brodeur has the experience.

Yeah, but I hate that everyone boils it down to those two players. There's a lot of depth to all three lines.

Yzerman knows better than to make a team of big names. He's an awesome guy. I suspect Brodeur will be the pick for goal, though it sucks we didn't get to see much from Luongo. I'm sad we won't get to see Fleury. He's my fav.

Haha, that's how we Crosby fanatics choose to view reality.

    ...le sigh.

Ha, well if it was a beauty contest between Ovechkin and Crosby, Sid wins hands down

Yeah, but Alex wins it just for loving life as much as he does. He's the happiest guy ever.

People only care about the goalies and the centers.

I played defense my entire hockey career, never get any respect T_T.

Don't be silly. People who really appreciate goalies appreciate the defense too. A goalie can only do so much without good help in front.

p.s. Sorry Sweden, our womens' hockey team didn't mean to destroy you.
