Can we expect the tyranny and the totalitarian regime of Big Brother (or any of the other superstate governments) to end? I'm aware of the pessimism that Orwell focuses on throughout 1984, but does he leave the reader with any glimmer of hope? Should we assume that the Proles will overthrow Big Brother thousands of years in the future? And even if a revolution does occur, will a similar government emerge?
