Of all the books I've read over the years, Notre Dame de Paris is most definately my favorite. The characters seemed real to me after finishing it, as though it were not a work of fiction, but an actual step back into time. I can no longer look at an image of Notre Dame without visualising Quasimodo climbing about it's heights, the demented archdeacon Frollo, or Esmeralda and her pet goat. Reading it changed me, in a small way, for the better. I would highly reccommend this book to anyone who is a dreamer, like myself, as they are likely to gain much by reading it.
