I have read this novel twice in a year, and both times i was still amazed. I have also seen the play 4 times, and I plan to see it again. The story is amazing with such depth of the characters, you can actually imagine yourself following Raul to Christine's dressing room in the dark hallways. Gaston Leroux is one of the most outstanding authors. The way he decribed the characters emotions and feelings bring them to life. I recomend this to anyone into a mystery and romance novel.

I also recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good horror novel. The part where Christine first sees Erik's unmasked face and what follows is very terrifying.
