Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!! HELP

Hi there as the title says I need help with that topic and Animal Farm. Could anyone give me a few points on the topic in order to structure my essay. I have a general idea but I don't know where to start or finish. If anyone could give me a few pointers that would be great. Thank you.

don't remember the story completely, but i guess look for how the characters become less reasonable and more selfish as their power grows. i think the appeals begin as sort of general welfare stuff, then skew toward selfishness, centralization, and vanity.

but, honestly, i forget the most politically powerful animal on the farm, that's how long it's been :-)

relate each character to history. especially the history of world war two and the dictators of that time. each character from Animal Farm are a hidden form of hitler, etc....

    ?

You like to expand on that? Hitler only comes into the story as a bit-player.

yes he is only a bit-player but i also meant that in world war two there were other dictators like him. I just couldnt remember some of their names at the time and I still dont. But in the book some characters are like the good guys from world war two...like chamberlin, i think that was his name. Im sorry, my mind cant remember some of the names but really the author during the time it was written was trying to show everyone how the war really was, how each leader was becoming someone they didnt mean to be but in the end couldnt turn back.
