First of all, welcome to the forum! And I can understand what you mean by 'feeling uncomfortable' while reading Steinbeck's works. But I don't see why anything close to reality shouldn't be treated as fiction. Fantasy, no. But fiction, yes.

    Me

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site. I've always enjoyed writing poetry and prose and have recently been writing alot of short one to three page stories. I was looking for a place online to begin publishing them so I started a blogspot blog called "Created Writings" where I've been publishing my literature. I also looked around for a place where I could share my work and find work by other authors and this seemed like the site which was most relevant to my concerns.

I'm looking forward to spending some time on this site.

    This is a Good Place

This seems like a good place to talk to others about the written world. It's wild to have forums like this to talk to other people who actually read and even like to talk about it. This should be a good experience. It's nice to be with your own kind sometimes.

    Hello ...

Hello everyone. I just now registered. I will be using O. Henry's short stories in my ESL listening class at Namseoul University in South Korea. I will be interested in locating some quizzes on O. Henry's short stories.

    Hello

I was searching for somewhere I could share my love of Russian literature and came across this site. I'm currently reading Anna Karenina, but I'm more of a Dostoevsky fan

    Hi everyone.
"There must be a place where people who read lots of books gather, right?", that's what I thought. Well, I came on this forum (after I stumbled upon it) to find out how do different people (who read books) look on life in general, and maybe to exchange couple of words with them.

Howdy all. I'm a business writer and also currently attending college - English major. I love writing and reading (of course) and since I don't really have anybody outside of my classes that are interested in literature, this seems like a very nice place for me to be.

    Cool Hi everybody....

My name is D Floyd and I have a passion for the classics. I considered myself fairly well read, but there are some books I would like to read in the near future. Right now I'm working on Joyce's 'Ulysses. I hope to learn from the members here.
