Another very nice one...you have quite a flare for words. From what I've read so far you're very talented at invoking an image without being verbose. I like the phrase "wooden town" to describe the forest. And, once again, the last two lines are penetrating and chilling.

At one time this poem had a deep personal meaning to me, but, unfortunately, I don't remember what it was about. It was a metaphor for something that happened to me, but I have absolutely no recollection of what the circumstances were. So, alas, all that remains is the imagery![]()
