    hi from a newbie. (repost)

i posted this in the general forum, not realizing that there is a section for intros. i didn't see an option to delete the other so i just reposted it here:

just wanted to say hello. i'm new to posting on this forum but i've been reading it for a few days and have enjoyed the variety of the discussions i've read here. i'm on a short story kick right now but have also read some great longer books recently.

read over the past couple of months:

from a buick 8 and apt pupil by stephen king
    traveling mercies by anne lamott
a ragamuffin gospel by brennan manning
the book of jeremiah by jeremiah the prophet

currently i'm reading from collections of both anton chekhov and john cheever, as well as studying the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd letters of john from the bible.

i look forward to learning more from the users here and enjoying good literature.

i should also add that the during the last year i read walking on water by madeleine l'engle. this book drastically changed the way i view art (literature, music, etc.) and the way that God can be in it in ways that many people never realize, especially (and unfortunately) many christians. i love this book.

thanks for the info on chekhov, kathycf. i've got a lot of reading to do to find all of the cool things in this site.
