    Red face FastTrack Poetry

this is poetry tracking meaning one posts a poem and the next posts a another one in RESPONSE to it and so on and so forth.
like a chain poetry if you like with the aim to link up one poem to the next

    example:
if a poem is about the weather the next could be about clothes to go with a type of weather.

here is the first one to kick off

    beauty

    beauty
    has
    seasons
    life
    its
    real reason
    paint it
    black and white
    and it is
    rearing to try
    bright
    colours are its
    height

    Rainbow

And answers from poached lips resound
to douse faint truths in seamless ink
why faith is sought by pride
    while pride reduces faith
    to tatters of one color;
My faith is in a race,
many hues that make my past,
it is won, not by those who run,
not by those who come first or last,
but by beauty and bountiful breeds.

Wisconsin's Cherry Orchards, Black and White

    Door County's entertained by spring.
    The cherry blossoms sprinkle white
Against the bark, a shining black,
    Beneath the sun's immense spotlight.
There's grass below the orchards' trees
That calms the black and white with green
Beneath a sky that's peaceful, blue,
Much like the bay today when seen.

    American Idolatry

I know a tree of idols
that grows way far out west
I pick its fruit of lush polemics
I try to sing, "la la",
    But triumvirates trump humble meanings
Empty notes are hard to swallow
Posed as Gods, the perch of frauds
alas they're the ones who won.

Walking Through Ellison Bluff County Park

My cell phone's dead. My notebook's missing.
My brain is on the blink.
I wonder if I even can
    Forgo the need to think.
    The forest floor has trillium.
The leaves of beech trees race
To block the sun. A canopy
    Will shade this sunny place.
    Two couples want a photograph
    With trillium and trees.
They're far to old to round the path
That I still do with ease.

To round the path you need a Quert,
    A Quert of wondrous toes.
It walks the path towards a place
    as yet no human knows.
And when the path returns, it's round
    and turns back on itself.
    I haven't seen a Quert for years...
though I have seen an Elf.

    of maturity else
    no such a thing
    exists in this earth
    in books they may
    faith
but in life they may nay
    it may never try
but when it does it sigh
    it is just that
    good
    it fly

    What Is What Isn't

Though elves and fairies may not be,
The world is wilder than it seems
And tamer, too. Slow down and see
The wonders of a world that dreams.

    fairy land

    fairies in
    dreams they
    may airy
    but then
    at the flinch
    of an eye
    awake see them away
    to a land far
    far and astray
    where
    their array may
    carry

    Rapunzel Ruminates

    A nifty batch of keratin
    grown on genetic turf
hirsute woes do hide her mirth
like rife follicles on feathered backs

I yell to her my name, my claim,
    the reason why I came,
She casts her coat to sever
the yoke that totes her freedom,
Alas the rope is taught to choke,
her throat and leaves her bleeding

    slowly...excruciatingly...to death.

    Perms are potent killers.

    free thrill

    tread
    carefully
    to a freedom
    gracefully
    nothing else
    hopefully
    will mislead
    you
    willfully

Calidore thank you. I enjoyed your piece too

    coming back and
    staying put
    never losing touch again
    strength is a power den
    within it
    simply zen
    when you know
    how to play reign

    Prior to the Pit
    Adol09

Peace was still ephemeral in Scotland's balmy more
Tempered draughts of adrenaline lapped my mind's languor
When pale wroth saw scarlet trees birds were scared to land
Brazen roots have singular wills undeterred by sand
I sat to ponder at the peak of doubt, the crest is most unsettling
My gripe is with unwholesome clout, its grip is oh so nettling.
My hide hides the heart inside
