    He harped a lot on the gambling subject. The house of Fortune has been a main subject of his wisdom. He has said that you must exit gracefully on a bad luck streak as well as on a good luck one. Probably Dostoevski grasped his meaning as a gambler. There is no doubt that Balthasar spoke from experience in this regard.
