Hello,
I remember a poem that was required reading in either a Junior High or High School English class in the early 80's that I just can't find now.

It was about a girl - I think she was at a party or some kind of gathering - and the poet was comparing the fact that she wore a colorful dress because she was young and full of life to the older women at the party who all wore black dresses. I believe the poet refered to these women as blackbirds.

I have no idea of the name of the poem or the author. I would really like to read it again.

All I can say with certainty is that it is NOT "She Walks in Beauty Like the Night." That is the poem most often suggested when I ask people about this poem and it most definately is not the poem I'm looking for. I seem to remember the poem I'm looking for and that one were presented on facing pages in my schoolbook as two examples of a theme.

Any help would be appreciated.
