    the word hero

I am guessing the word hero finds its origin from past battles and wars.

an unsung hero as oppose to a ''sang hero'' and is there such a thing as a ''modern hero''?
I am looking for example of the different types of heros I stated above.

    and

are there more heros then heroines and does that make literature byest by definition?

    thanks!!
