Hello this is Dimitris from Greece.
I'm a high school teacher with many interests, including spearfishing, solar energy, piano, rc airplanes, etc. I like short stories, I find them very fun to read and kind of easier to develop (I like a a moody plot with an interesting twist at the end).

In this forum I aim to mostly stay out of the way and just read others, since English is not my mother tongue. However I will try to create something in English, and you tell me what you think.

    Its nice to be here,
    Dimitris

I'm looking to find people with whom I can discuss literature. I love classics, and I was hoping this would be a good place to rediscover my favorites. I have just graduated and am now on my way to graduate school where I plan to get a Masters in Anthropology. I hope I can find other members here that are free thinkers, slightly sarcastic, and love to read as much as I do.

Hello from a new poster - Tale Teller

I am very new indeed to posting on line so I hope I clicked the right button. I am a storyteller, actress, educator all at the same time. That is to say some portion of all of my hats, including my music (vocal and instrumental), seem to be a part of all that I do. I live in Knoxville, TN and my name is Linda Upton Hill. I am a member of The Carpetbag Theatre, Inc. of Knoxville. My son's are grown now and empty nest is still a little tricky. I have begun my studies to become a certified educator, so finding this site is a God send. I do not know if the way to ask a question for everyone to see and offer feedback is only here or by clicking the 'start a new thread' button. Someone please advise me on that point. Well, here I go--stepping off a bit-of-a personal cliff, out of my comfort zone of familiar ways to join in. Thank you for the warmth and welcome I have found so far.

    Sincerely,

    Tale Teller :seeya

    Is this forum still active?

With that asked, I am a poet and artist. I love to read, write, draw, study. I spend most of my time in a college classroom in persuit of my MSW with a minor in Philosophy. I am what my friends affectionately call a sophistocated lunatic. I love life and learning about life. I am currently working on my first novel and my only divorce.

    Evening bookworms!

Stumbled across this lovely little community while trying to revise for my Modernism exam. I'm a third year English Lit student at Lancaster University, about to take my last exams ever. (Modernism on Friday, then American Lit post-1900 on Monday). Right this minute I'm trying to revise Lawrence's Women in Love, Woolf's To The Lighthouse, and Conrad's Lord Jim. Tomorrow I need to move onto some poetry as well.

I look forward to swapping ideas with you all!

    Poet Anymore?

Hi all, I'm not sure where I am on the artist scale. I used to call myself a poet, until I finished school and had to write to make meager wages. And you can't put on Craigslist, Poet for Hire. So now I'm sort of a poet.

I do love to write it still and add it to music, film, and other mediums. I cannot do without it--which is probably my only criteria.

Anywho, I'm interested to see how the posts are and to join in the conversations.

    Thanks for your time.

Hello everyone, I’m glad to join this forum.
Reading books of different genres and analyzing them is a part of my profession. I’m a philologist, a teacher of languages and literature. I would love to discuss books and compare my points of view with the others.

    Hi! (:

So, I've been surfing this site for quite a while and finally decided to join it. I have just graduated high school and am still not sure how I will spend the upcoming years. However, I'll probably won't study literature or languages and it will remain my love instead of career. But who knows, right? I hope this forum will help me to deepen my interest in classics and I'm also sure about that You can never get enough of them!

    Nice to meet you all!
