    do you hear, oh totem;
    we worship your elevation and logic,
    desire constant contact with your spirit;
    your options are endless,
    enrapturing our consciousness
    with communiqué’s of great import-
    securing our sustenance,
    intimating times and seasons,
    fostering fellowship,
    multiplying diversions;
    if one disciple, then two-
    where one of us is sacrificed
    through sweet metal mauling,
    another takes the place
    through paradise purchased;
    by your wisdom our conveyances were conceived-
    it's enlightening how you use our hand
    to hit the heathen hard
    in their depraved pace toward perdition,
    where you forbid your beacon,
    and make worshipers fear that dread place,
    to hope for a recharging reward

    I love the how by the end of this poem, I was bowing to the totem.

    necessarily
    limited to

    you are
