    Why Only One Novel.

    Hello friends,

I am wondering why Did Emily Bronte write only Wuthering Heights and not write other novels? Don't get me wrong it is a master piece. But, I wish we read more from Emily.

    Thanks,
    Nawaf

    Hi Nawaf,

The reason, unfortunately, is because Emily Bronte died at 30. I personally find her the most talented Bronte child, which is sad...

She wrote some poetry, but Wuthering Heights was the only novel. : (

You should read some on the life of the Bronte's. They are fascinating! Three sisters and a brother raised on the Yorkshire moors by a clergyman father and a maiden aunt. Emily Bronte took her own surroundings and neighborhood tales and wrote a masterpiece.

Emily was a genius. It's a shame she only wrote one novel

There is some evidence that she was working on a second novel but no trace of it remains. One wonders what it might have been about.
