A small suggestion:

It might be a good idea to put up a sticky in each subforum regarding spam threads, since I have seen advertising spam several times in the general literature section and also philosophical texts. I think some folks who frequent those subforums may not always frequent general chat, where the sticky is located.

Nah, the spam is mostly done by automated robots, not real people who would read the warnings.

True, but I was thinking along the idea of the sticky in general chat that explains to members why it isn't a good idea to reply to spam topics.
