Help: searching for a political/philosophical novel

    Hey Everybody!

I have got a question. My friend is American and I want to buy him a book for Christmas. He likes reading political and philosophical novels, sth. with a deeper meaning. His favorite books are from Ayn Rand, so it should be sth. like this.

Can someone help me and give me some suggestions what might be interesting for him?

    Thanx for your help,
    Linda

Maybe someday he'll read literature. Until then: The Randian Fantasies of Terry Goodkind

    I ditto this.

In case you're aiming for laughs, buy him Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant, you may find his reaction priceless

    But then again, that's not fiction. . . . . .

I wouldn't do that... the american translation of that book might be unreadable, watch out!
If he is american, he probably knows Michael Moore, how about something from his works.
But somebody here suggested as well Dostoyevskij, my favourite is The Idiot

Michael Moore + Ayn Rand = A is not A

    Okay I'm not helping here . . .

How about Victor Hugo? Get the Ninety-Three edition with Rand's introduction. He'll love that
