    Corroding Tide

    Here's my first posting. Its a poem that I actually just wrote earlier today.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Corroding Tide
    The jester is hiding
    The hammocks are burning
    A new time is riding
    Into a world stopped turning
    The babies are begging
    The young can’t provide
    The devil is tagging
    They’re in for a ride
    Those who know are no longer there
    Now we have to bear
    The brick on our shoulder
    As the air gets colder
    It's very good. The rhyme scheme is surprisingly subtle, making this a good poem to read out loud.
    A bit dark, but that probably what you were going for. Good work!
    Thanks alot. I'm not normally that dark of a person, but it was just on the mind. I'm glad you like it.
