    David Peace

    Hello!
This is my first post (and probably the very last one ) and I'd like to ask you about David Peace books. I'm reading 'The Damned United' and this book really brought me back to reading with passion. I'd love to keep reading his books, but I'm not sure they're written same way. Did anyone read 'The Damned United' and other Peace's books? Could anyone compare those (obviously, I mean storytelling). I'm looking forward to your replies!

Hi Jimmy. I'm reading The damned United at the moment, though it's been on hold for a couple of months. I was interested to read this because David peace comes from near where I was brought up in West Yorkshire. One of his first books - i think it was 1970= something was set in and around my hometown of Wakefield.

When I read about The Damed United, I was also interested because it brought back memories manly from school about conversations and football games about Leeds united. I wasn't into football then, but i was shocked to find how much i recalled about those times and the players.

I like his style - it's very intense. A kind of profane stream of consciousness. I also thought it was a bit like reading intense poetry, except of course it is the poetry of Brian Clough's brain. Have you read his other stuff? It's been made into dramas now with sean Bean.

Actually, I haven't, but I ordered GB84. I was looking for some of his books in library, but they only have 'Occupied City' - second part of Tokyo Trilogy.

And same as you - I bought 'The Damned United' few months ago and start reading it last Tuesday. It's finished now and the only thing I can say is - brilliant!

Thanks for replying, by the way .
