How long do you have to wait before you reread a good book?

So far, I read my favorite books twice or thrice within, let's see, six months or so? When I read books, especially the good ones, the stories they convey always stick to my mind for a long time that I don't need to reread them often.

Sometimes 0. Like when I finished To Kill A Mockingbird I just went back to page one. Also, Chaos by James Gleick. Maybe that was just because I didn't understand it though, ha.

Anyway, LOTR is the book i've re-read the most and I probably look to it once every two or three years....trying not to wear out the magic and all that there. The most rewarding re-read I ever had was Crime and Punishment. Found it easier and much more illuminating the last time around. That was about ten years I waited on that one. Depends on the book is the short answer I guess!
