See through gray and black,

These are colors of the night
Where thoughts of you dwell
A perfect abode
for everything beautiful and obscure

but humming, pulsating a common melody
of something uncertain, open-ended
but proverbial
in the midst of gray and black

Away from them, free those fireflies
beneath the mango tree, above the verdant grave
Let's watch it all, this mesmeric scene
in gray and black
these hues of toil,
of never ending clashes and spars
outside
and within, especially
Just let them be
Right here in my smoky chest
be swayed, be rocked
like the moon in its hammock
Let go
like that one instance of not so long ago
In our pajamas
let's disappear
and flee and wander
never mind your slippers
amidst gray and black
we steal time
and make it ours.
