    Worst book of 2008

Following on from the best book of 2008......

For me it was Marian Keyes This Charming Man. Someone handed it to me in work - and against my instincts I took it and read it. Never again...

2008 isn't over yet, but the Travel Journal of Samuel Hearne was pretty bad.

"Waiting", by Ha Jin. Stilted dialogue, the most ridiculous (if it weren't for the tragic subject) rape scene you can imagine... the typical overhyped drivel... written by a Communist regime-exile, and it probably gets praised just because the author emigrated from China.

Portrait of An Artist As a Young Man was the worst thing I read this year

Man, you guys really need to quit hating on Portrait of the Artist! This isn't even the right topic to discuss it, and you're still bringing it up! That book is brilliant.

What do you mean it is not the right topic? In my opinion it was the worst book I read this year.

Muse is right; I haven't read anything except news articles and friends' poetry that was written during this year, and this probably holds true for many people, so we should extend the topic =]

    The Town by Bentley Little

Seriously this is the last time I read anything by a modern day, popular, horror author. This book was boring and terrible. When I can figure out the plot twists before they happen then the author just isnt even trying anymore.
