Name seven of your favorite fiction writers (dead or alive, it doesn't matter) - one from each of the seven major populated continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, North America (including Canada) and South America.

I have been mulling this one over.
For North America I will have to go with one of my all time favorites Edgar Allan Poe
Asia - Orhan Pamuk
South America- Gabriel Garcia Marquez
I do not think I have read a full enough body of work to choose a true favorite for Africa or Australia but for Africa I have really enjoyed the work of Chinua Achebe and for Australia - Markus Zusak
For Europe it is almost impossible to narrow it down to one. I am still working on figuring it out.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. ~ Edgar Allan Poe
