    Cocktails.

She wants you and you want her
You aren’t about to let her know
    You want her
She’s not about to let you know
    She wants you
    You buy drinks and nuts
    Imagine each other naked
    Touching
    It’s half past ten
    Half past
    Ten
    You think this isn’t
    A life time thing
    She’s wearing an awful top
And tongues at the bus stop
    Is not worth
    The price of the cocktails
    On the cocktail menu
    With its pineapples
    And coconuts
    So you walk home alone
    The 12 miles
With your hands in your pockets
    And icy balls
    Feeling you’re for real.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

    Indeed.

    Loved this poem, Jerry.
Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty
