    Goodbye cold world

    we lived our lives
    in bubble wrap
    and Tupperware
    and cling film
    and sandwich bags;
    inside air conditioned
    pressurised cabins
    behind UV protected
    double glazed windows;
    in upright reclinable seats
    behind airbags
    wearing safety belts.
    We were comfortable
    we were overweight
    we were medicated
    we were unhealthy.
    in the end we all died
    all the same.

    Can't argue with that JM. Nicely put. I'm off to climb a tree.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

    Enjoyed reading your poem, Jonathan. Packs quite a punch for a small poem.
    Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty
