Ah ha. The current saga of Cambridge Analytica homing in on individuals fears, hopes and aspirations through social media.

So now we have, (if it's not fake news), shadowy billionaires, (for whatever motivation), paying consultants to influence political campaigns using such tactics. Have we gone a step beyond conventional advertising?

I must confess that as of late, I have on one of the nameless social media channels I utilise, been constantly receiving adverts re: cheap hotels in Athens ( having recently returned from a holiday there), car adverts ( having recently Googled car brands & prices), and finally Funeral costs and options. Looks like someone has twigged I've reached three score years and ten!!!!
