    Coaling Mind

    Knowledge is intractable
    Like loss, or like fire

    Minds are things so fallible
    Mistresses to ire

    What is light without darkness?
    A blinding life’s mare

    Damaged goods are witnesses
    To unearthed terror

A man broke amid the day
    He seemed so contrite

Beaten by the sun’s hot ray,
    He began to ignite

    Bored into whilst withering,
    By a brother’s eye

May the night spread its mercy
    In my final time

    Don’t roast me too hard.

    I enjoyed your poem, S.A.M.
    It reads well.
Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty
