    The Rhythm of Life

When you stand in a canoe it can be hard to keep your balance. Likewise when you live life unsure, scared, unfaithful, it can be hard to keep from falling into defeat.
“One cannot be blessed at the same time you constantly prepare for defeat.”

We are deceived by the lie that life is just “good enough” and it can’t get any better, but it can.
“You cannot move on to a better place in life when your roots are planted into the ground of mediocrity.”

When you are doing well in life it can seem that everything is going well and falling into place. You should know when your down that you can rise to better and when you’re up, you can still rise so you may soar like eagles and never fall down. We can bend, but we won’t break.
“Why does one submit to problems and challenges like dog showing its belly in defense of adversity when you can climb your mountains and plant your flag on top of victory, not defeat.”

Some of us just keep getting the short end of stick and wish for a larger, more fulfilling blessing. Keep believing for more by thanking and honoring God for everything and your grateful heart will be rewarded with gifts of grace.
“One can live abundantly by honoring God and believing in Jesus, but moths make holes in clothes and locust plagues those who oppose Him.”

We wake up to the birds singing songs to the Heavens and go to sleep with the sounds of the night like a lullaby, taking you to sleep. The sunset in the evening reminds us of Heaven as well as the bright morning sun. Your life is precious.
“One can’t prepare for a new day and at the same time prevent it.”

When we make mistakes do not be hard on yourself. The God who sits on the throne of grace will forgive you and will make you’re mistakes a blessing.
"When one has been inactive in the faith of ministry and giving, God can use you. The opportunities that God presents to you come and go like smoke in the wind. Prepare to serve Him."

Do not settle in one area in life. Be like nomads who follow the direction that God gives you.
“The mouth of a lion can be shut, but the word of God speaks with no restraints.

Lord, we are a flower In need of your sunlight.
We droop and wither away without you.
With you we will survive and thrive.
May God come and wash my eyes to see.
Thank you Lord for your freedom and grace.
    Amen.

Bog off and preach somewhere else. This is a personal poetry forum.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

Enjoyed, Adam, especially "We wake up to the birds singing songs to the Heavens and go to sleep with the sounds of the night like a lullaby. The sunset in the evening reminds us of Heaven as well as the bright morning sun. Your life is precious. "

A few bugs in the amber, but overall a nice prose poem. A few concerns:

    L3 constantly; L5 into; L7 your; S3 L4 like (a) / of; S4 L5 plagues; S5 "singing songs" while alliterative might be improved IMHO; "taking you to sleep" may be redundant; S6 L1 we/yourself; S6 L2 you're.

The prayer poem at the end was a nice touch.

A nice religious poem, especially the opening line with insecurity at its base. I'm an atheist but still liked it.

How is this a poem? If this is then anything is and nothing is

To me it sounds like relentless preaching in a style unique to the devout desparate to recruit other desperadoes. I find it ludicrous that in this enlightened age people still seek refuge in such baseless and frankly daft beliefs.

I'm not intolerant. I'm just bewildered by it.

If it is a poem please tell me how.

    Perhaps:

“There is no such thing as prose,” Mallarmé insisted in 1891. “There is the alphabet, and then there are verses which are more or less closely knit, more or less diffuse. So long as there is a straining toward style, there is versification.”

This is not a prose poem, but a prose sermon.

Oh well. I'll just quote a poem by Anthony J. Mahavoric:

    Setting goals
    is the first step
    in turning the invisible
    into the visible.

    It is in the moments
    of decision
    that your destiny
    is shaped.

    Child

I hope for you that you do it better than I did
Like my father wished for me, like my mother
Wished when I suckled on her breast
Like my sister when I loved her and orange squash
And blue skies were the best
Find the best real fast if you can
    You may not
    But you will get there
And you will feel like the dogs.
    Avoid all gods and idols
    Rituals and belief systems.
    North south east west.
    When you get comfortable leave,
Love as long as you sure,
    You will never be sure,
But if your feet don't leave then stay.
I hope you find a place your feet stay,
Your heart in your stomach feels safe
    And you love someone
    And wake up every morning
    Smiling joker like
Because this bed has them beside you.
Have a career have no career
    Excel or fail
But fall asleep touching the arse
    The finger tips
    The waist,the breast, the stomach
    The skin
    Of somebody you love
    To f ucking death.

Love of another human being is love. Love of beings bastardised over and over to control the masses has nothing to do with love and for me preaching and regurgitating this nonsense has no place. I make no apology. All religion is crass.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.
