    What about Parade's End?

I know little about Ford Madox Ford. Even less about his long and heavy novel, that happens to be a tetralogy. I know, of course, that it is somehow related to World War I, and that it deals with the British society back then--but nothing else. Is it a good novel? Is it worth reading? Is it a masterpiece? Is Ford a good writer? Is he a good stylist? Does this novel mirror Proust's work? What do you think about it? Should I get it?

It is a great novel. I can't remember where I heard (or read) this, but I'm sure it has been called the most underrated novel of the 20th century.

It's a very hard read. I read part of it a couple of years ago and couldn't make head or tail of it. From all the praise I'm hearing of it, I need to try again. But I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as good as Proust, and not nearly as sensitive. Other people probably see much more in it than I do though!

I haven't read it, but I did enjoy the mini series based on it a few years ago.
