it is just that

Since I don't drink much one glass of beer is my limit.
Generally I prefer coffee. But I suspect water would be best.
Ah well...
I don't drink anymore.
But then I don't drink any less either.
Ah-hem
Uhhhh...
I like a drink, but I'm a complete lightweight - not to mention that I really hate hangovers. So, I'll usually have one drink and one drink only.
"I should only believe in a God that would know how to dance. And when I saw my devil, I found him serious, thorough, profound, solemn: he was the spirit of gravity- through him all things fall. Not by wrath, but by laughter, do we slay. Come, let us slay the spirit of gravity!" - Nietzsche
I'm on warfarin (to thin the blood) so never drink alcohol. Must admit I miss it sometimes.
I'm not supposed to drink much because of a medical issue. But I usually have a glass of red wine (or a bottle of good beer) at family holidays, some brandy at Christmas, and champagne on New Years Eve. All are delicious and lovely. Getting drunk is stupid, though.

I don't like the feeling I get from alcohol so I generally don't drink. If I have a drink it will be a beer and just one and then it better be a good dark one.
I hope death is joyful, and I hope I'll never return -Frida Khalo

Personally, I think that the unique and supreme delight lies in the certainty of doing 'evil'–and men and women know from birth that all pleasure lies in evil. - Baudelaire
Sorry chaps, but Gilliatt is the nearest to me.
In the UK I drink real ale in a little 16th century pub, and eat steak & kidney pie. If not, its draught Guinness in the Irish sections of North London.
I developed a penchant for rum in Jamaica, ( Appleton, Wray & Nephew), but still like dark rum like Pussers ( Nelsons Blood)
Vodka. Canadian brands are good if you can get them, but normally I'm on the Russian Stoli. (Grey Goose from France, precociously overpriced.)
Brandy. Mainly French VSOP.
Champagne. I'm no connoisseur, but enjoy a couple of glasses on a long haul flight. Had it once for breakfast in Madrid & it works.
Whiskey. Malts are wasted on me as I like a long drink with a mixer. Rather partial to Jamesons Irish.
Drambuie: Drink of the Gods.
Gin: Nothing like it with tonic, lime and ice after a tough day at work.
Then of course there are all the illegals e.g sediki in Saudi Arabia.
Bourbon. I discovered this late in life but really appreciate the main ones: Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey ( with or without honey), & the more specialized ones, Makers Mark etc.
Having re read this, I think I have a drink problem.

Stoli is my go to if it takes me more than a minute to make a decision. A couple years back I tried Monopolowa and...well, as I type this, I recall I truly enjoyed it. I'd say it's time to give it another shot.
Makers Mark was introduced to me through marriage, her side is all Belgian. don't know if that has any relevance other than they enjoy drinking. Good stuff.
And of course Drambuie, my grandma Vlasta's favorite pastime...
God Bless Texas.
