Great question, Cacian. This is more of a drinking combination, but en Afrique they/we used to drink scotch mixed with lait sucre--condensed sweetened milk in a can. The horror, the horror.

Anything served with with onions is rendered inedible.

I love onion, eat it raw or cooked with something else or just alone.

I am not big on my food touching so on my plate it would be anything that touches, I eat things separately. But worst combinations is cold tomato-sauce on white bread, or jam on white bread, my son loves these things and I find them disgusting.

I agree with Helga regarding onions. Without onions most dishes would be inedible.

But I find the curry ruins most things. I can't understand why one would put curry on anything good, but it can cover lots of unpleasant flavors.

Curry renders tofu edible (if stir-fried). Onions are delicious, especially with garlic, but too much onion spoils almost anything. I say almost because--onion rings, mmm-boy!

Some combinations sound awful but are just great. The foremost among these are pretzels covered in white chocolate. They look and sound disgusting, but try one sometime. On the whole, salty and sweet combinations are undervalued in the West.

Do you mean that curry removes the toxins from tofu? That's interesting, but it still isn't a reason to eat either.

I used to think beer and ice cream shouldn't go together.

"Cake on cake" is common these days, with whipped cream laced with jam being an example.

Just because it hasn't killed you yet doesn't mean that it won't.
