    Comparisons to Lolita

I need one book to compare to Lolita for my A Level coursework (relating to any of the themes but preferably obsessive love/male fantasy).
I wanted to compare it to Wuthering Heights but it's a syllabus book and so not allowed.
    It's got to be pre-1900.
    Can anyone help?

When you say one book do you mean novel. Would a long(ish) poem like Goblin Market be worth considering. Moby Dick? The Phantom of the Opera? The Sorrows of Young Werther? Cyrano de Bergerac?
