Favorite Life/Travel Excerpt? - Film Project

    Hello all,

I come in need of help. I am in search of an excerpt from a book about the winding roads and obstacles of life.

I have begun a film project in which I filmed my friends and I's road trip to San Francisco. He recently graduated and landed a job out there. My goal for this film is to create a cinematic piece depicting that terrifying transition from young-adulthood to adulthood, while using the road trip as a metaphor for that long and often bumpy journey.

For the audio portion of the film, I was going to do a voiceover of a book excerpt about life and/or travel that captivates this message. I would love to hear all of your recommendations! Please feel free to comment with the excerpt or even a message which could point me in the right direction.

I look forward to hearing your replies.

I can't think of anything at the moment, but I wish you well with the project.

There are several novels on the theme. But it seems you are looking for something especific.

Agreed. I am currently re-reading On the Road by Kerouac trying to find such a passage but so far have not had much luck. Hopefully I will stumbled upon one soon.

There may be something appropriate in
    Grapes of Wrath.

and there is also a beautiful movie directed by Walter Sales about it:

You don´t have to be tuned in with Latin American politics to enjoy it. The book is basically a "formative odyssey ".
"The book has been described as a classic coming-of-age story: a voyage of adventure and self-discovery that is both political and personal." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mo...Diaries_(book)
