    Earliest Shakespeare film

Here is a youtube link to the earliest example of Shakespeare on film. It is the death scene of King John and the dying king is played by the great late Victorian actor manager. Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree.

It is a silent movie. You might think that Shakespeare without the words is missing something important, so maybe thatís why Sir Herbert makes up for the lack of words by hamming it up as he writhes in every possible position.
