"STRANGE FIRE BEFORE THE LORD" (A look at Leviticus 9 through 11)

    LEVITICUS 9:1 - 11:47 , 2 SAMUEL 6:1-7:17 , ACTS 10:9-22

We see this week that the sacrifices are commenced at the Mishkan, and all goes well..................until.....Nadab and Abihu get into it. The Torah says that they
offered "strange fire" before the LORD. Many often wonder as to what this "strange fire" was. The Torah does not explain in detail, only that they were struck
down by YHVH by fire. It might have been that they acquired their fire to put on the incense altar from someplace other than the brazen altar, thus , bringing a "wrong message" remember that the brazen altar symbolizes Yeshua, and to bypass Yeshua, is to bypass life. Perhaps Nadab and Abihu had some strong drink and thus were impaired so that they got confused, and thus , perhaps, made their "own fire" not realizing what they were doing. Perhaps they were not authorized to even offer incense. Maybe that was why YHVH told Moshe that those who would serve in the Mishkan, NOT to take strong drink, one has to be completely sober and in one's right mind when one comes before the LORD..............................In Lev 11, we see a list of Kosher and non Kosher animals, clean and unclean. We really need not to go into detail about those because it is plain that those are the animals that the LORD permits us to eat. Not all meats in the supermarket are approved by YHVH. But man thinks himself smarter than God, so he goes ahead and includes all kinds of unclean meats to sell and consume, including porky pig, shrimp, crawdads, bacon, call it what you want, inspite of the enticing aroma, we should stay away from all those, simply because G-d knows best and He knows what should go inside our bodies.

    2 SAMUEL :

We see the case of transporting the Ark of the Covenant to the city of Jerusalem, but in the Wrong manner, YHVH never calls for a cart and oxen to transport the Ark, it should have been transported on the shoulders of the Levites. Uzza had the right motive, but in the wrong way, One can be very sincerely WRONG

had the Ark been transported on the shoulders of the Levites, it never would have almost fallen off the cart, and Uzza wouldn't have had to touch it.

There is only ONE way to come to HaShem, and that is by Yeshua.

    ACTS 10:9-22

We see the vision of Kefa, and many interpret this as meaning that now we can eat all kinds of meat, because G-d "cleaned" them up, But that is not the case,

it is referring to the "gentiles" that when they come and abandon their idols and idol worship doctrines, and come to accept Yeshua as Messiah, they are Accepted also, just like the Jews from the line of Abraham, we are all ONE FAMILY (Mishpochah Echad)

Each and every animal has been created in a certain biological and physiological way, and that way does not change, no matter how hard you pray for it to be "clean" When God calls "all foods/meats clean" he is referring to those that he has already created for our use in Lev 11. not what man has added to the menu.

We must always Remember though, that we will stand before God some day, and it will not matter what or what we did or did not eat, since foods do not affect our souls, nor our spiritual relationship with God, only our personal relationship with Yeshua (Jesus) have you accepted HIM as your Savior and LORD? that will be the ONLY thing that will really matter.

The Lord is nothing if not confounding. Aaron builds the Golden Calf, but he still gets to be First Priest; his sons fall short of making false idols, but they still get smitten.

Lev 11: clean, unclean critters are reiterated several times, as are the directions for building the tabernacle. Seldom are the Lord's repeated instructions in re priests' garb, tabernacle, fine dining cited by Bible experts. Yet, if you believe, these must be important to Him; otherwise, why would they be repeated?

As for Uzzah, even David takes issue w/ God. The Lord appears all too often impulsive & vengeful, but only infrequently does anyone (Moses, David) challenge Him. That the Lord all but gives David a pass on the adultery (Bathsheba, Uriah) offense baffles me no end.
