    Lost

To run your fingers thru golden
Stroke skin so fair and soft
To cherish a spirit so bright.

    To dance within the heavens
    Laughter within the heart
    Two souls meld into one.

    To live life beyond riches
    Then days of bliss disturbed.
    To look into eyes dampened.

    For all it is worth.
    Or once was
    Time has moved forward
    And I somehow vanished.

    Yes....I am still here

I liked the idea of living "life beyond riches". The vanishing at the end puzzled me. It seems that something traumatic has happened.

This was really great to read... very beautiful! Thanks for this.

To me it is describing the endless cycles of life. To find that beauty and happiness, but then to again find the good things about sharing it with the world.

I didn't get how the title, "Lost," fit in with the rest of this at first, then it made sense. By the way it's worth a lot!

It's so good you're here again. Your poem of lost life's simplicity "beyond riches" is touching and feeling fresh - until your last stanza, which is too rapid a statement, in my eyes not the best effective, worthwhile rethinking to provide the desired contrast.

    Hope you're doing well, Kitty!

    Hugs from

Kitty Bar, you have returned with grace and style

"For all it's worth. Or once was" brings to mind a Garth Brooks song quoted here in part (link to song below):

    And now, I'm glad I didn't know
the way it all would end, the way it all would go.
Our lives are better left to chance.
If I had known how the King would fall
You know, I might have changed it all
I could have missed the pain
but I would have had to miss the dance.

Hi YesNo.....the trauma is that I grew older....Aggggg! I hate to say it cuz I still have sooooo much life and beauty in me, at least through my eyes; and as far as I am concerned those are the ones that count!

The inside spouts what we are all about.

Thank You - YesNo for your reply.

Thanks for the read and comment NikolarI....LOST was a weak title...just how I felt at the moment.
RMH....(raise my hand ~ changing subject) what does your name mean? PM me if you find that more appropriate.

I will try to revisit the last stanza.....and yes you are right....I was rushing it cuz I wanted to create a loneliness that would end....sigh...trying too hard to put my thoughts.

    HELLO Delta!!!
I miss You! Seriously I do. I'm not much of a poet but watch for my blogs as I hope to have the time for them...I do miss writing but my main interest lies in photography..

Delta thank You for the welcome....hope you are feeling and doing well!

Ahhhh.. Melanie ~ You are too kind in your comment! But I love it!!!!
You may be onto something with the last dance. I never listen to Garth Brooks but it seems like we are on the same thought. Thank you for the link and your reply...:-)

My dad got to meet Garth Brooks once, but then a lot of people here did.. Before he made it as a superstar in country, he played rock and roll, it was just a matter of finding that niche.
Dad showed him a song he'd written, and asked him to play it and got his opinion on it. .

Now that I think about it, I find it interesting because I've always done the same thing, approach people who are high up in their field. . high monks, or others. . you feel better when you do and learn a lot more!
