life is an experience
like a ladder on a wall
to climb it we may
fall
and the pick up is appaul
we can stand up
once more

it may never try
but when it does it sigh
it is just that
good
it fly
Hip deep mud and tangled dead wood such is
The march through life, no trail marked no smooth way
Like Roger's Rangers' march on St. Francis.
And there'll be dirty work when we get there.
But it's work that must be done. Far better
Me than someone more fastidious.
And the march home will be almost as rough.
There's a better trail, but supplies are low.
A man can live for weeks without food, but
Without you there is no life, no way home.
The word "appaul" puzzled me, cacian, but the rest was nice and made sense. I also liked yours, PeterL, with the reminder of what is more important than food.
