Peace to all.
1-Human has been granted choices so that they can get appropriate rewards.
2-Thought of goodness and thoughts of evil comes to them. The sources are agents made by God. Sources for good thoughts are called angels, and source of evil thoughts are called Satan.
3-Final choice of choosing the line of action is in human's hand.

"..................out of their short-sightedness, raise an objection to the teaching of the Holy Quran that according to it God Almighty has Himself set Satan after man and thus He desires to mislead mankind, but this is a mistake.

They ought to know that the Holy Quran does not teach that Satan can exercise compulsion for leading anyone astray. Nor is it the teaching that Satan is appointed only for the purpose of calling to evil.

The teaching is that this is a trial and a test. Man has been equally bestowed the touch of angels and the touch of Iblees, one calling to good and the other to evil so that being confronted with this trial man should acquire merit or should become subject to chastisement.

If only one type of means had been provided, for instance, if all man's external and internal emotions had drawn him only towards good, or if his nature had been such that he would not have been capable of doing anything except good, then there was no reason that he could have been awarded any rank of nearness to God on account of his good actions, inasmuch as all his means and emotions would have been for doing good and the desire of evil would from the beginning have been absent from his nature. In such case by what right could he have deserved merit for avoiding vice?"

[CH17:V65] ‘And entice whomsoever of them thou canst, with thy voice, and urge against them thy horsemen and thy footmen and be their partner in wealth, and children, and make promises to them.’ And Satan promises them naught but deceit.

[17:66] As to My servants, thou shalt certainly have no power over them, and sufficient is thy Lord as a Guardian.

[CH2:V257] There should be no compulsion in religion. Surely, right has become distinct from wrong; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and believes in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

[ch2:v258] Allah is the friend of those who believe: He brings them out of every kind of darkness into light. And those who disbelieve, their friends are the transgressors who bring them out of light into every kind of darkness. These are the inmates of the Fire; therein shall they abide.
