Peace be on you.

Once a traveler came to the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.). He sent message to home for food. Reply came that there was nothing at home except water. At this, he asked Companions who would arrange for food for this guest? A Companion said he would. He went home and asked his wife to arrange for provisions for the guest of Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.). The wife told him food was so little that it was only for children. The Companion said her to prepare meal, and light the lamp, when time of children’s eating come, make the children asleep by some way…..She did so, she extinguished the lamp, then the couple joined the guest and pretended as they were eating too so that guest should not feel embarrassed. The family remained hungry at night.

In the morning, when the Companion met the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.), he told him that Allah smiled at your plan and liked it.

These people had learned hospitality from Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him).

Individual learning and collective learning are two aspects in the process of the remembrance of God which turns into practical benefits of people.

Amidst many problems faced by Muslims living in Europe, there is a light….. This light is the annual spiritual and moral convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community U.K. which will start on Friday, 29 th of August 2014 in Hadiqatul Mahdi place. The convention has pure religious purposes to seek pleasure of Allah.

Organized volunteer service starts working for arrangements long time before the annual-gathering, called Jalsa Salana.

Guests are coming from all over the world. They will stay in arrangements provided by Ahmadiyya Community. Some will stay in homes of local faithful. Travel for the sake of God is the blessed travel. These travelers come from very far distances; from Africa, Asia, America, Far East, South America, Russian States, etc.

The guests come with a passion to meet their Khalifah, who, over the year continue to teach them how to have peaceful world society in the light of true teaching of Islam. Convention gives both, the opportunity meet each other. Those who cannot go physically, they join through Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (MTAi ; mtaDOTtv) .

These Annual Convention are convened at various places in the world. 66 th USA Ahmadiyya Muslim Convention, the oldest Muslim gathering USA was just concluded last week in Pennsylvania.

Similarly, Germany’s Jalsa took place few months back……..It is worldwide blessings where people learn that faith is peace, it calls for peace, it provides peace…..This message will eventually engulf the world by the grace of God.

Volunteer workers come from all walks of life. Some of them are high earning high officials, they serve with happiness. They can be seen cooking food, carrying breads or doing cleaning works. They know it is blessed work for blessed guests who come to seek pleasure of God. Children too do various duties.

Hospitality is a subject, which is taught in Holy Quran. Welcome the guest with greeting of peace, paying full attention to them and care for their food and security etc.
Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) set high standards of hospitality and taught it to his Companions. In the beginning, a narrative was mentioned…. Once guests came, but food was very little, Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) tasted it first and asked the guests to enjoy it. They were satiated by the blessed food.

The originator of these modern day annual gatherings, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Promised Messiah Mahdi (a.s.) and his family too set standards of hospitality for guests. He said:
“I am always mindful that no guest should be inconvenienced. In fact I always advise that as far as possible guests should be made comfortable. A guest’s heart is delicate like mirror (glass) and is broken at the slightest of knocks.”

Non Muslim guest learn a lot at these Ahmadiyya Muslim conventions. Their misunderstandings are removed when they participate in peaceful air.

Humble prayers are needed all times for the success of these gatherings.
