The letter 1 was written in dec 11, 1817. The letter 2, supposed to be written after number 1, dates march, 1817. Isn't that missdated?

The letter 1 was written
"Letter 1
TO Mrs. Saville, England
St. Petersburgh, Dec. 11th, 17-"
and the letter 2 was written
"Letter 2
To Mrs. Saville, England
Archangel, 28th March, 17-"
There is a blank after 17___. So for example, letter 1 may have been written on 11th Dec 1781 and letter 2 written on 28th Mar 1782, that is, after about three months from the date of the first letter.
I'm not sure about this, anyway, hope this helps.
