    Anyone Have/Like Dogs?

I have a wonderful relationship with my four-year old German Shepherd, who I treat like a younger brother and do pretty much everything with. Does anyone else love dogs on this forum?

We do have dog lovers here, although they are being pretty quiet at the moment. I don't have any dogs at the moments, but did own two collies at one time, my personal favorite breed. German Shepherds are also quite beautiful and so intelligent.

Cats are better, not so emotionally needy.

I have a calico that lives under my house.
We just sort of accept each other without any real interaction.

I have two dogs. Spock a border collie mix and Sisko an icelandic sheepdog. Spock will be 13 this year and Sisko will be 6. Spock was really an 'only child' for 5 years until my son was born but he became protective of him when he was an infant and slept by his bed. I got Sisko when my son was 2 so they are great together and run around the house and garden.

They bark when someone comes close to the house so I see them as a good security system.

I like dogs in general but I do not want them in a house with me.
I like my house to be pet free.

We've had 2 dogs. Our first dog was a Golden Retriever who passed away to cancer at around 11 years old. Our second dog was a Labrador Retriever who we had to put down this past December due to cancer as well.

We'll be looking to get another dog within a few months.

It's not easy but over time your heart heals and think of all the good times we shared.

I've always had dogs, both for work and as pets. I can remember every sheepdog we've had for the last 50 years, every one was different. Of the others our Yellow Labrador was probably the best pet, he was so faithful and patient with the children, they all loved him.

I've often been with dogs and taken them for walks. My parents had 2.

Our current dog is my wife's, and we've had to buy an AK-47 style, battery powered, water pistol to deter him from the many things he does like pinching glasses and remote controls, barking at the door, barking at anyone who leaves the house, growling at anyone who moves when he's sat next to them on the settee, etc etc etc.

he and I also have a running battle for the "football seat" on the settee. I maintain it is mine whilst he begs.. sorry barks to differ.

I've never owned a dog, but I've often looked forward to meeting people again who had one. Dogs are one of the most affectionate animals.

Yes; throughout my life, I've been around pet dogs, (and cats, fish, hamsters, gerbils, rats, birds, chickens, ducks..)
Currently we have a 13 year old black lab mix named Betty, not sure what the other parts are.
I'll go ahead and add that we also have a cat named Lily

I have not owned my own dog- my parents are not animal people and I do not have the time right now. I spend most of my time with them, however, through work. I have also had the pleasure of training my manager's Bernese Mountain dog from the time he was a puppy and I am currently training her Bearded Collie puppy. I'm definitely a dog lover, though I wouldn't trade my cats for anything!

I like dogs but only from a distance.
I am an animals' person but not a pets' person because I care a way too much about my personal space and also animals' individuality. Dont like the idea of cuddling or playing around with a being that I am not even sure wants to do that or maybe I just need to create some understanding.

    A sad day.
Our Betty, the black Lab mix passed on today.
So long to a gentle soul, she was about 13 years old.
