Summer breeze
A sunlit bed
White wrinkled sheets
And a basking cat
Windows shine
Like gates of heaven
Guarded
By potted plants
We’re inside
Or out
Socks are on
All day long
Coffee stains and tea spoons
Two packets of sugar
A half for me
Books and unfinished novels
Photos and notes
Pinned to the walls
Dreams reached
And to be
A home
For you and me.
